Efoil Basics (2) Rider Lesson

  • Here's what you need to know about a two-person lesson:

    • Double the Fun: Bringing a friend or family member along for a lesson makes it twice as enjoyable. Learning alongside someone else allows for increased learning opportunities as you can observe each other's techniques and provide feedback. It also adds an element of entertainment to the lesson.

    • Location: Lessons are conducted on the lagoon side in Sebastian, Florida, for safety reasons, avoiding strong currents and shorebreak commonly found in the ocean. The specific shore of the Indian River Lagoon used for lessons depends on weather conditions and wind direction, with the goal of providing the smoothest water possible for learning.

    • Duration: Lessons typically last as long as the battery charge allows, which usually translates to about 1.5 to 2 hours. Factors such as rider weight, wind speed, and current can influence the duration of the lesson. Additionally, as riders become more proficient, their battery tends to last longer due to increased efficiency.

    • Equipment Provided: Life jackets and helmets are supplied for safety. However, participants are required to bring their own footware. Standard water shoes, reef shoes, or booties with a hard bottom are recommended to protect against objects on the beach or lagoon bottom, as well as to provide traction on the board and reduce foot fatigue. Using footware also helps minimize cramping or discomfort in the feet, particularly when using new muscles during initial rides. This discomfort typically diminishes as riders gain experience.

Overall, a two-person lesson offers a dynamic and enjoyable learning experience while ensuring safety and providing optimal learning conditions.
